Two Johns and a Whore
Coagula Curatorial presents Two Johns and a Whore, featuring the gallery debuts of John Fleck and John Roecker, two notoriously controversial and confrontational media artists, coupled with a group show by twelve artists exploring the literal, symbolic and allegorical nature of prostitution: Anthony Ausgang, Kelly Blunt, Sheila Cameron, Jane Cantillon, Stacy Lande, Louie Metz, Rafael Reyes, Bradford J Salamon, Oriana Small (aka Ashley Blue), Mike Street, Kelly Thompson, and Mimi Universe.
Curated by Lisa Derrick, this exhibit is a direct and unapologetic exploration of art, love, sex, and commerce.
Live music from Johnny Madcap plus DJ Alex Gordon. And fine wine and craft beer as carry-out from Mr. Ling's Wine and Beer Mart.

I am very excited to be a part of this show. I hope to see you tonight at the opening event. Many thanks to Lisa Derrick for including me and to Mat Gleason for hosting the show at Coagula. I look forward to many more curatorial efforts from Lisa. Congratulations to us all!
Here are some references I pulled when researching for my piece. http://www.buzzfeed.com/bbcamerica/the-most-famous-prostitutes-in-history http://www.iusw.org/ and of course Mary Magdalene http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Magdalene
I will post my painting later after the show as not to 'blow my wad' so to speak. ;)
When thinking about whore's I of course thought of Mary Magdalene. Then I searched and searched for a "man whore" I found nothing. EXCEPT that Russell Brand used to be an 'escort'. Well here is my man whore RB painted as MM. Fun times!
