Greg Aprahamian is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has since exhibited his art work in numerous one man and group exhibitions in New York, Chicago, the Des Moines Art Center and the San Diego Art Institute Museum of the Living Artist. Aprahamian has been working with wood as a sculptural medium for nearly 20 years. His current series of sculpture "Trees" are carved from their original substance, wood with leaves made from exquisite and surprising materials; glazed porcelain, mica and metals.

Tony Peters was awarded a scholarship to the Art Center College of Design. While a student he worked as an assistant at the Mendenhall Gallery in Pasadena. Since graduating in 2000, he has enjoyed a prolific career with over twenty gallery shows, private commissions and feature articles in Southwest Art magazine. Peters lives in San Diego and enjoys traveling around the US and Europe, photographing and painting along the way. He claims that his first love remains; "the winding metropolis of Los Angeles, where I am moved by the quiet beauty of a screaming city."

Valerie Mitchell received a MFA from The Rhode Island School of Design. Mitchell is known internationally, is regularly featured in books and articles and is included in many private and museum collections. Mitchell's "Landscape Pendant" series made from vitreous enamel on fine silver and the highly collectable "Fourth Street Bridge" series will be shown. The former is a series of brooches in various materials, 2 x 2 x .25 each displayed in hand poured 6" x 2" cement base with .5" glass top. Inspired by the tri leaf 'window' motif in the 1930's bridge structure, the series pays homage to the Los Angeles River, its history and current views of graffiti, railroad tracks and other bridges.

LAAGAFBLA08/Phantom Galleries

"ONE WOMAN GROUP SHOW" ONE PIECE SOLD SO FAR!

For my section of this show I'll be doing a "One Woman Group Show" . This idea came about for two reasons. The first being I usually shy away from solo shows and always would rather collaborate or be in group shows. I guess the idea of standing around looking at my own art all night seems super boring to me. The other reason is that I seem to have a few different styles that I love to do. They all kind of look like a group show when shown together. That being said I'm billing this as my first solo/retrospective show. I think it is the perfect venue for me to do my first solo show. I hope to see you all there!!!
note:this painting is sold, continued series available during show!

xokelly COME AND SEE ME AT 6TH AND LOS ANGELES STREET!!!!
